Fencing in Durban

Durban is the busiest fencing hub in KwaZulu-Natal. Affiliated clubs in Morningside, Windermere and Glenwood run weekly training for beginners, school-aged fencers and provincial competitors across all three Olympic weapons.

Fencing in Durban North

Durban North fencing is centred on Northwood Boys' High School, the provincial sabre hub coordinated by Maestro Fencing. Sessions are open to students and residents of the Durban North area.

Fencing in Chatsworth

Chatsworth fencing grew out of the Fencing KZN transformation project. Arena Park Secondary learners were introduced to épée in 2026 and now train weekly, with fencers already competing in provincial ranking events.

Fencing in Hillcrest

The Upper Highway area is served by Hillcrest Fencing Club, training twice a week at Highbury School. The club coaches school-aged fencers and adults from Hillcrest, Kloof, Waterfall, Assagay and Botha's Hill.

Westville fencing is anchored by the UKZN Fencing Club, which welcomes university students as well as members of the surrounding community who want to learn the sport.
